WHO IT’S FOR
If you’re ready to work, we’ll cover the rest.
You keep a roof over your head for a year while you hold a job, train for a better one, and save toward permanent housing. There are four spaces, and every application is read by our team.
A completed application
Sending us a message is not applying. The completed form has to be attached, mailed, or brought in.
No narcotic or mood-altering prescriptions
If you’re currently prescribed one, call us before you apply and let’s talk it through.
Your own medical costs
Medical expenses are yours while you’re here. Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center, Anchorage Native Medical Center, and the VA are all options.
Willingness to stay twelve months
This is a live-in program. You sleep here while you build what comes next.
Willingness to work
You’re expected to hold a job, attend job training, and be in a recovery group. That’s the shape of the year.

What twelve months here
actually looks like.
Six things run through the whole year. They strategically overlap so you're not waiting to finish one before the next begins.
Steady Work
Holding a job is the center of the year. Everything else is built to make that possible.
Job Training
A training program alongside the work, so the year ends with better options than it started with.
Recovery Group
A drug and alcohol recovery group, required and ongoing.
Bible Study & Chapel
Regular study, and chapel every evening, 6:30–7:30PM. More on that below.

Counseling & Support
One-on-one counseling. Onsite AA groups. Outside referral for mental health.
Housing Search
Staff work the housing search with you, so the twelve months end with a lease in your name.
And the part that makes it possible:
everything is covered.
A bed in the women’s room, all meals at no cost, the clothing room stocked with work clothing as well as street clothing, and Creative Beginnings art class. You pay nothing for any of it.
ONE WOMAN’S STORY.
Laura came in April 2023. Today she's a clinical associate.
Laura Setuk arrived at Beauty In Grace after a lifetime of struggling with alcohol and drugs. Her clean date is April 14, 2023. She started with housekeeping at a local hotel. That led to peer support at the Arc of Anchorage, where she's now a Behavioral Health Clinical Associate. She helps Mission clients connect with community resources as a way of giving back.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
This is a Christian program, and our faith is front and center.
Chapel and Bible study are part of the year here. We’re a Christian ministry and we don’t hide it, because finding out after you arrive is worse than reading it now.
You don’t have to believe any of it on day one. You do have to be willing to sit in the room.
